More than Church and Morals

Just when I thought our chance had passed

"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (2)For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death (sin=death)....(31)What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (32)He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (33)Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. (34) Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intersession for us. (35) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?...(37) Yet in all these things we are more than conquerers through Him who loved us. (38)For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels (good and evil) nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, (39)nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Praise God. Maybe it's not too late. Whether humanly he is able to forgive me or not, God has, and who is he who condemns? Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? I am forgiven, now it only stands on me to keep following him and to put to death the sins of my flesh.

Where Would I Go?

No one has the answer
No one ever showed me how to fall
Will you catch me?
She tried to hide behind the high tempest
It's quiet in my reverie
You broke the silence with a leap
A hero set her free
When you sang to me, Baby
You sang to me, oh, my favorite song
You know you, you're more than I could dream
And love is bending me

Where would I go?
Where would I go?
Where would I go?

Where would I go
Left on my own?
Where would I go?

Someone understands me
Someone's sympathetic to my side
You're my life here
We find these times
They fly right by together
Remember when you bled on me
I was made to meet you,
Made to know you,
Made to hear you sing
Sing to me, sing to me
Sing my favorite song
You know the one that he wrote for you
The one that makes me close my eyes
And make believe that you are mine

Where would I go?
Where would I go?
Where would I go?

Where would I go
Left on my own?
Where would I go?

Where would I go?
Where would I go?
Where would I go?

Where would I go
Left on my own?
Where would I go?

Interwoven from Genesis to Revelation

In the past three days' "quiet times" I've focused on two verses and one section, a verse and section in Romans, and a verse in Isaiah, and in todays study of Isaiah the surrounding verses related right back to Romans.

Focus Verse:
Romans 8:11
“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

References:
2 Corinthians 4:11-15 “For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So then death is working in us, but life in you. And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, ‘I believed and therefore I spoke,’ we also believe and therefore speak, knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you. For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.”

"Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you." - Acts 2:24 "whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it."
"He who raised Christ from the dead" - 1 Corinthians 6:14 "And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power." (15)"Do ou not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ andmake them members of a harlot? Certainly not!" --> (relates back to) Romans 8:4-7 "...that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. (5) For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. (6) For to be carnally mindedis death, but to be spritually minded is life and peace. (7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be."

Focus Verse:
Romans 8:5
"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit."

References:
1 Corinthians 6:15
2 Corinthians 4:18 - "...while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." (v. 16-18 relate back to the third verse of study: Isaiah 40:31)

Focus Verse:
Isaiah 40:31
"But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint."

References:
"wait on the LORD" - Isaiah 30:15 "For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: ‘In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.’ (16) But you would not, And you said, ‘No, for we will flee on horses’ -- Therefore you shall flee! And, ‘We will ride on swift horses’ -- Therefore those who pursue you shall be swift!”
Isaiah 49:23 - "‘Kings shall be your foster fathers, And their queens your nursing mothers; They shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, And lick up the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD, Fore they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me.’ ” (24) “Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, Or the captives of the righteous be delivered?”

"Shall renew their strength" - Psalm 103:5 - "Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
2 Corinthians 4:8-10 - "We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; (9)persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed --- (10) always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 - "Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. (17) For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, (18) while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal."
Job 17:9 "Yet the righteous will hold to his way, And he who has clean hands will be stronger and stronger.” (v. 18 relating back to Romans 8:5)

John

In case you're wondering why this is titled "John", I shall explain. Because for once my title actually really has to do with the entry.

John is a bird. A bright yellow w/ black Finch, to be specific. He is our unofficial pet bird. Unofficial because he lives outside, and we didn't buy him or anything. He just showed up at our window on Monday morning and has been there ever since. Seriously. All he does is peck on our windows, sit on perches by the windows, and fly off, we suppose to eat (and apparently there's a female bird who joins him every now and then at our windows, so perhaps to see her, too ;-) ). He started first just pecking on our bay window. Then today he started at our sliding back door and our kitchen window. We've tried a couple times to leave the door open to see if he would come in, but it hasn't worked so far :-).

Now Vincent says that he wants to buy a bird to be his pet, and Mom might actually let him. A bird would be cool to have. Except I think that if I got one, I'd feel bad because it would constantly be alone.

So one of these days I'll just get a couple dogs. But that's on the back burner right now 'cause I've got all sorts of other stuff to think about. Like college and how I hate that I'm gonna start so late.
